I'm not contracted with insurance which allows more privacy for you and for therapy to meet your needs and not conform to requirements mandated by insurance (if you have out of network benefits I can provide a superbill for reimbursement). AND My goal is for therapy to be as accessible as possible. i have equity sliding scale rates based on access to financial means and levels of privilege. this ALLOWS SUSTAINABILITY TO OFFER LOW FEE SPOTS. My rates for 50 minute sessions are tiered at $200, $175, $150, $100, $75.
Longer sessions and EMDR intensives are based on amount of time.

What are OON (out of network) benefits? OON benefits allow you to see providers who are not part of your insurance network by allowing you to pay up front and then being reimbursed a percentage of that cost by your insurance. You will need to check with your insurance what your OON coverage is.
Is couple's therapy covered by insurance? No, most of the time it is not. Insurance is for medical treatment which is not applicable to couple's therapy because the couple is the client. There are therapists that will identify one person in the couple as the "identified patient" (IP) and bill as individual therapy with a family member present. But if the session isn't about the IP's diagnosis and happens 50% or more than individual sessions, then it is insurance fraud. If these therapists are ever audited, the insurance would require that money back and you could be left on the hook. The IP is also the only one who is guaranteed access to session notes because a release of information can be revoked at any time.

What is your cancellation policy? Because your time slot is dedicated to you and, unlike other types of providers, I cannot fill your spot if you cancel, you will be charged whether or not you attend. Kind of like you pay for your gym membership whether or not you go. I will make every effort to reschedule you if you need to change your appointment. Having my policy this way is part of what allows me to have so many sliding scale spots. (There are some exceptions)
